I'm Klári, mother of three wonderful boys, art historian, clothing industry pattern maker and babywearing consultant, the creator of ema design. The brand was born from the combination of these. 

With my first baby, I used many baby carriers, but none of them allowed me to carry stylishly and comfortably. At first, I made pouch carriers for myself, then for friends and relatives. Although I loved this type of carrier for its simplicity, I soon realized that its use was very limited. That's how I discovered the mei tai type baby carrier, which completely captivated me with its versatility and aesthetic, minimalist appearance.

I made the pattern for the first mei tai when my eldest son was one year old. Since then, I have been continuously developing it to include the best solutions. Iabsolutely wanted to hide the sleeping hood so that it would not be a separate accessory. The hidden pocket where the sleeping hood is tucked away closes uniquely with a magnet, because my baby always woke up when I opened the snaps. Every small detail is the result of long experimentation and my experience.

Every detail of ema design products – from design to execution – is in my hands: from the careful selection and sourcing of materials to the final finishing. Thanks to my clothing pattern making qualification, I precisely designed the baby carrier patterns so that their ergonomic design provides maximum comfort and proper support. Material knowledge is especially important to me: I consciously choose premium quality textiles that are not only durable and eco-friendly, but also gentle on babies' sensitive skin. Initially, I dyed several colors myself, but today I only make caramel and powder by hand, while increasingly focusing on designing my own patterns and textiles. I work with a textile factory that produces GOTS-certified materials in an extremely eco-friendly way, so my carriers meet the principles of both sustainability and premium quality.

My carriers are made in a sewing workshop that works with outstanding expertise, where exceptionally skilled and experienced seamstresses work. They not only have the right machines, but also the necessary knowledge and attention to detail to make every single piece flawless. Safety is particularly important when sewing baby carriers: every detail of the sewing technology is well thought out, and the safety seams have been designed so that the carriers remain reliable and durable in the long term.

In 2017, I completed the babywearing consultant training at the Hordozóház (Carrier House), where they supported me as a professional partner in the final touches. It was here that it was first possible to rent and buy ema design mei tais, which was a huge honor for me, as they only place baby carriers on their shelves that are safe, comfortable and practical from every aspect – for both baby and parent. They select tools that provide the proper position for the baby, are comfortable in the long term, and truly make everyday life easier. The ema design mei tai is such a baby carrier: it combines softness, support and easy usability, so it was a great honor for me that it could first find a place here.

In addition to baby carriers, we also make accessories that not only make everyday life with a baby easier, but are also practical and aesthetic – for example, rompers that support free movement, and the all-absorbing mombag.

Thanks to the breastfeeding-friendly design, they easily adapt to changing needs while helping the mother stay stylish. The romper was specifically designed for babywearing, ensuring your baby's freedom of movement while providing maximum comfort in closeness. The soft materials ensure that the baby can freely enjoy the moments of being carried.
